Members of the Tobacco Free Partnership of Marion
County Share Their Thoughts on Tobacco Prevention
with Congressman Ted Yoho
April 4, 2013

Freshman Congressman Ted Yoho held a special town hall meeting as part of his first major in-district return after 10 weeks in Washington, DC.

Cindy Mulvey and Art Konstantino, active members of the Tobacco Free Partnerships in both Marion and Levy Counties, were participants in the crowd and had front row seats!

Congressman Ted Yoho (Right) meets with Cindy Mulvey and Art Konstantino

Cindy Mulvey has been an ambassador for smoke-free policies and is ever prepared to share cessation help with those who have interest.

Art Konstantino has also been engaged with educating decision-makers and the public about good health. Mr. Konstantino's remarks drew attention to the fact that smoking is one of two major costs to people's health as well as a taxpayer burden in our healthcare system.

Congressman Yoho seemed to grasp the importance of promoting prevention and fostering better health to curb the costs of chronic disease, of which tobacco plays a great role in this country.

A big thanks to Cindy and Art for their civic involvement with our Congressman and simultaneously educating the public in attendance.  We encourage all our partners to inform our leaders and fellow citizens about the costs tobacco puts on society.

Be on the lookout for any future invitations to attend these types of events in your area!
