SWAT Youth from Fort King Middle School and Howard Middle School Participate in Events Recognizing Red Ribbon Week

SWAT students and advisors from Howard Middle School and Fort King Middle School attended the Red Ribbon Week Kickoff event at the Ocala Police Department on Monday, October 22, 2012.  Various schools and community resources hosted interactive booths for youth and parents of Marion County to have fun and learn more about the impact of drugs. SWAT students had pledges to sign, a tobacco jeopardy game, and various tobacco visuals that students and parents enjoyed!

The Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) Program has been an active part of tobacco control in Florida since the original settlement.  Florida’s SWAT Program has been a model for other states, and remains a very effective youth prevention program. In Marion County, the program is managed by SWAT Coordinator Jessica King.
